You have image material in the form of high-resolution data. In many situations, however, a simple jpeg is sufficient. Working with both is too confusing? Not with work.FILES. You get image data with preview, layout data and high-resolution data on demand. All in a single clear structure similar to Explorer. Create folders, upload documents, move files – all this is highly intuitive, using right-click menu’s, drag & drop, or clear icons.
Sending layout or high-resolution data could not be easier. Simply drag the required images and documents to the window and click Send. Done! Of course, you can also download the images. After four weeks, the link to the files is automatically deleted from the server, to prevent junk data.
Don’t we all hate searching? With work.FILES it will almost become fun. You can assign tags to you images. These tags and, of course, the file names can be used can be used for searching. And the way the search window works, the view is refreshed even while the search string is entered. This turns searching into finding.
Brand new: Available tags are now imported during uploading.
You want to select images together with your business partner, but you are both in different locations? No problem! Put a checkmark in the box to make your images public. That way anybody who has been given access can view and download the image for the shared telephone meeting.
In order to make getting started in work.FILES easier, we have integrated an FTP Upload option. Using this option, files in a folder can be uploaded via FTP and then imported into work.FILES. The FTP protocol is very reliable and 200 files can easily be uploaded overnight, even with slower connections.
With this module the functionality of work.FILES is extended. You can create users and assign appropriate rights to them. Users with the correct rights can upload images and have access to the images you have assigned to that user. Additionally, you can authorise users to make these images available to their customers in the section “Send and Download List”. This example is particularly interesting for trade organisations. Other features can be discussed during a personal conversation. These features are also outlined in our updated guide:
We introduced a new area in the user administration for storing various operations. Uploading and downloading files , as well as the delivery and the deletion of files will be documented with username and time.
The metadata field ( Copyright by IPTC ) will be integrated during the upload in work.FILES . When exporting files ( Tags & Copyright ) metadata that was changed in work.FILES remains stored in the image.
Make sure that sufficient space is available. Storage capacity is inexpensive.
Example case 1: You use work.FILES to manage jpegs without high-resolution data. For 600 jpegs of 2MB you need to have about 1.6GB storage space available.
Example case 2: Some jpegs have high-resolution data. For 600 jpegs of 2MB plus 50 high-resolution data TIFFs of 20MB you need a capacity of about 2.6GB.
A MySQL database with PHP 5 as script language is required of the hosting package. / MYSQLI extension for PHP
MYSQLI, GD, ZLIB and ZIP extensions for PHP,
optional: AMF (enhances server performance)
Apache / Mod-Rewrite for Apache
Upload limit 2MB (default setting) /
Memory limit 16-256MB / Max execution & input time (script execution time) at least 60 seconds
The requirements of work.FILES are very low.
The web hosting package commonly used in commercial environments is sufficient to work with work.FILES. We install the Digital Asset Management System work.FILES once on your server. This will give you immediately access to all features. Very easy – no dependency!
In work.FILES there are no user limitations either. Any user with admin rights can create and manage an unlimited number of new users. The administrator can define rights for individual users via different roles.
The work.FILES software has no storage limitations. This means that you can determine the desired storage capacity yourself along with your other hosting choices. We recommend using extensive file space.
